New Facebook Presence
Today we launched our Facebook presence in hopes of building our movement. With the impending Golf Tournament coming up in May, it is time to really start working to get off the ground.
Yesterday the founding members of Gil Rogers, III, Steve Rogers, and Katy Vereneau visited the Carol & Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center to present a check for $10,750 to help fund care and prevention research.
More activity to come in the new year as our movement gains steam ...

Stand Up 2 Cancer in the New Year
Let's ring in the New Year right, with resolutions to keep cancer away:
This is where the end of cancer begins. When together we rise as one. When we stand up strong, stand up brave, stand up undeniable. When we Stand Up To Cancer.
- Stop Smoking Now - And if you don't smoke, NEVER START.
- Eat right: Add anti cancer food to your diet like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. And cut back on red meat!
- Manage your stress - relax, meditate, learn to let go, and EXERCISE.
- Know your family history - and if you don't know, learn more, ask questions, pass on to others what you find out.
- Get examined: Have a mammogram, a prostate exam, get a colonoscopy, have your skin examined. Because what you don't know can hurt you.
- Join an advocacy group - no one should feel alone.
- Stand up and be heard: Write to congress to demand that they make cancer a national priority. Your voice matters more than you know.
- Join The Stand at su2c.org and tell your story.
- Launch a Star at The Constellation at su2c.org in honor, or in memory, of someone you love.
- For more things you can do, go to standup2cancer.org. And because giving makes a body feel so good, donate what you can while you're there.

Thank you for your support
Because of the overwhelming support from friends, family, co-workers, local business, and media we are proud to announce that we have well exceeded our goal of $10,000 raised for the Carol and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at UConn. The Inaugural Gil Rogers Memorial Bowl-a-thon sponsored by No More Fathers Lost and Parker Hannifin was truly a success.
We look forward to one day not having to have bowl-a-thons that benefit cancer research. One day we will live in a world without cancer ... and it is because of people like you that we can say that.
Thank you,
The Rogers Family
